What we collect

We currently collect information in a few limited ways:

  • basic website analytics through Google Analytics
  • information you choose to send us by email
  • future mailing-list sign-up information if and when that feature goes live

We do not currently offer user accounts, checkout flows, paid subscriptions, or public profile features on this site.

Analytics

Exploit Paths uses Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic and usage patterns. Based on Google's official documentation, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies and collect information such as device and browser data, approximate location inferred from IP-related processing, and on-site activity data used to measure how visitors use the site.

Our current implementation uses the Google Analytics measurement ID G-LE2ML84SKV. The site is configured to send anonymized analytics events through the standard Google Analytics script loaded in the page layout.

We use analytics to understand which pages are being read, how people move through the site, and which materials appear to be most useful. We do not currently use Google Analytics for advertising audiences, behavioral advertising, or remarketing.

For more about how Google handles Analytics data, review Google's materials: Safeguarding your data and GA4 data collection.

Mailing list and communications

We expect to add an email list soon. When that happens, we may collect information such as your name, email address, and communication preferences so we can send project updates, new content notices, and other relevant Exploit Paths communications.

If a mailing list launches, this page will be updated to identify the service provider, the data collected, and the opt-out process in more concrete terms.

How we use information

We currently use collected information to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve the site
  • understand traffic, reading patterns, and content usefulness
  • respond to emails or other direct inquiries
  • send future project communications if you choose to subscribe
  • protect the site and investigate misuse when needed
Sharing and disclosure

We do not currently sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the site, such as analytics or future email-list providers, but only for the purpose of operating, measuring, or communicating through the site.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate abuse of the site.

Your choices

You can limit certain analytics collection through browser settings, cookie controls, or Google's available privacy controls. You can also choose not to email us or, once a mailing list exists, unsubscribe from those communications.

If you contact us directly and want us to delete your message history or related contact details that we control, email [email protected].

Children

Exploit Paths is not directed to children under 13, and we do not intend to knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves, especially when mailing-list, donation, or other operational features go live. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
